Guinea Pigs - sold! Well, kind of..

Peanuts and Oreo. Two twin brother guinea pigs. My two guinea pigs. I have had them for two years, (as of August) and have recently gotten tired of takeing care of them. I tried to sell them both (together) for $15 which included; two pigloos, and two water bottles, but didn't have any luck.

So mom put them on a website that people put 'ads' on there for stuff they want or want to get rid of for free -- freecycle. We got EIGHT emails from people who wanted them!! One person we definetly did NOT want to get the guinea pigs; said they wanted us to leave the guinea pigs on their curb while they were at work (or somthing like that)!! I'm like, there is NO way I'm leaving my lil piggies on a curb!!


Mom and I decided on a person, and they came today to pick up the little piggies. We moved the rabbit (Lily) from her small old cage into the guinea pigs old one. We made it taller so she couldn't jump out. I put a shoebox in a corner for her to lay on top of, and I put her water bottle on the side, and food bowl in one corner.

Later, me and mom went to Wal-mart, and got a blue water bowl (that said 'thirsty' on it. It's actually a dog bowl :P), some Timothy hay, some more rabbit food since we were out, and a cat litter box to put in a corner, so Lily would go to the bathroom in that, so it would be easier to clean the cage out. When I got home, I filled the water bowl up with water (of course), and put it in the corner next to Lily's water bottle. I put the hay next to her shoe box, and the litter box in a corner. I will take a picture of the whole thing tomorrow, and post it in another post.

The reason why I bought a litter box, is because: when mom and I went to a pet-animal-shelter-something-like-that thing, there was a lady that had a booth about how to take care of a rabbit properly. She said for some reason not to have wood chip bedding, but put like a rug or something down in the bottom of a cage, and a have a litter box in there for the rabbit to use, but not put cat litter in it, cause cat litter is poisinous to rabbits. I put newspaper in Lily's litter box, cause I don't know what else to put in it.

Your also probably wondering why I have a water bowl and a water bottle. Well, the lady at that animal shelter thing said to not have water bottle, cause since there head is tilted up to drink out of the water bottle, it's hard for her to drink. I don't know.. Anyways, she said to use a water bowl instead, but to start with both, so the rabbit can get used to using the water bowl.



Sorry, I forgot to post about that animal shelter thing, and I have to do that like soon cause something kind of important (at least for me) and sad happened that day, and something really cool happened too, so I GOTTA POST ABOUT IT SOON!!!!!!!
